2013 DOLCETTO D’ALBA
PIRA -Organic Practices
Established in the early 1950’s. Giampoalo Pira recently took the reins at his family’s 8 hectare estate, overseeing the cellars while brother Romolo and father Luigi maintain the vineyards. Pira’s holding are in the three most prestigious crus in the Serralunga commune: “Margheria,” “Marenca,” and “Rionda.” 30 year old vines. Calcerous, clay with Northern exposure. Stainless steel fermentation 6-7 days. Elevage- stainless steel 8-9 months.
